Meet Kiri

Do or do not, there is no try.

Kiri has spent the last few years studying a Bachelor of Interior Architecture through Curtin Universities OUA program. Kiri was inspired to go down this path by her Dad who was a carpenter, so she grew up around things being designed and built. Her high school Art Teacher’s enthusiasm for architecture was infectious. While digging up my family history through online genealogy websites I discovered that one of my direct ancestors in the 1700s was one of the first recognised Interior Designers in Southern England as crown moulding and other intricate interior styling became popular in stately homes thanks to the French influence.

Favourite Style…

Kiri loves the current trend of earthy, honest materials but also the return of colours and patterns. While neutral palettes can be soothing and understated, I love bringing colour and movement into spaces with bold colours and patterns to help clients express their individuality. Our homes should be an expression of self so allowing clients to explore what that means to them is one of my favourite aspects of this job.

Best thing about working at Toowoomba Tiles…

Working with a creative team who are dedicated to bringing peoples design visions to life and the wealth of varied experience. Everyone has their own area of expertise and speciality and are eager to help me learn and were incredibly patient in the first few weeks.

And of course…. The coffee machine!

In my downtime…

Kiri enjoys reading and writing novels, painting watercolours, tending her cacti collection and riding her horses.
